Definition of Zone of employment

Within which injuries to employees are compensable under workers’ compensation acts, is the place of employment and the area thereabout, including the means of ingress thereto and egress therefrom under the control of the employer. Merz v. Industrial Commission of Ohio, 134 Ohio St. 36, 15 N.E.2d 632, 633, 11 O.O. 414. It implies reasonable proximity to place of employment. Evans v. Workmen’s Compensation Commissioner, 124 W.Va. 336, 20 S.E.2d 172, 173.
