In pleading, formal words introducing the statement of the plaintiffs case, by way of recital, in his declaration, in all actions except trespass. In trespass, where there was no recital, the expression used was, "For that.” Such words are not required in federal court pleadings nor in the majority of states that have adopted Rules of Civil Procedure.
