Definition of Exequatur
Lat. Let it be executed. An “exequatur” is a written official recognition and authorization of consular officer, issued by government to which he is accredited. Doyle v. Fleming, D.C.Canal Zone, 219 F.Supp. 277, 283.
In French practice, this term is subscribed by judi - cial authority upon a transcript of a judgment from a foreign country, or from another part of France, and authorizes the execution of the judgment within the jurisdiction where it is so indorsed.
