Definition of Equality

The condition of possessing substantially the same rights, privileges, and immunities, and being liable to substantially the same duties. “Equality” guaranteed under equal protection clause is equality under the same conditions and among persons similarly situated; classifications must not be arbitrary and must be based upon some difference in classes having substantial relation to legitimate objects to be accomplished.
