Definition of DESIGNATIO PERSONAE
The description of a person or a party to a deed or contract. See, also, Descriptio Person.
Designatio unius est exclusio alterius, et expressum facit cessare taciturn. Co. Litt. 210. The specifying of one is the exclusion of another, and that which is expressed makes that which is understood to cease. (The appointment or designation of one is the exclusion of the other; and that which is expressed prevails over that which is implied.)
