Definition of DE HIERETICO COMBURENDO
(Lat. For burning a heretic.) A writ which formerly issued from the secular courts for the execution, by burning, of a heretic, who had been convicted in the ecclesiastical courts of heresy, had abjured, and had relapsed into heresy.
