A system of courts of the United States (one in each circuit) created by act of congress, composed of three or more judges (provision being made also for the allotment of the justices of the supreme court among the circuits), and having appellate jurisdiction as defined by statute. 28 U.S.C.A. §§ 41-48, 1291-1294. Court of Appeals of the District of Columbia was held to be Circuit Court of Appeals, Swift & Co. v. U. S., App.D.C., 276 U. S. 311, 48 S.Ct. 311, 313, 72 L. Ed. 587.
