A coin of the United States, the least in value of those now minted. It is the hundredth part of a dollar. Its weight is 48 gr., and it is cornposed of ninety-five per centum of copper and of five per centum of tin and zinc in such proportions as shall be determined by the Director of the Mint. Act of Feb. 12, 1873, § 16. See Rev.Stat. § 3515, 31 U.S.C.A. § 317.
