What is APPARENT DANGER? Definition of APPARENT DANGER in Black's Law Dictionary

As used with reference to the doctrine of self-defense in homicide, means such overt actual demonstration, by conduct and acts, of a design to take life or do some great personal injury, as would make the killing apparently necessary to self-preservation. Modesett v. Emmons, Tex.Com.App., 292 S.W. 855, 856.

Under a statute providing that it shall not be a defense to an action for injuries to an employee that the dangers inherent or apparent in the employment contributed to the injury, an "apparent danger" is one the existence of which the employee has knowl'Aige, actual or constructive.
