Definition of Furlough
A leave of absence; e.g. a temporary leave of absence to one in the armed service of the country; an employee placed in a temporary status without duties and pay because of lack of work or funds or for other non-disciplinary reasons. § 7511(aX5). Also the document granting leave of absence.
