In English law,  the court or seat  of the marshal. A court originally held before the steward  and marshal  of the king's house, instituted to administer  justice between the king's domestic servants. It had  jurisdiction of all trespasses committed within the verge  of the king's  court,  where  one of the parties was of the royal  household; and of all debts  and contracts, when both parties were of that  establishment. It was  abolished by 12 & 13 Viet.  c. 101,  § 13. Mozley & Whitley.
