Definition of Excessive Bail
The 8th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution prohibits excessive ball. Bail in a sum more than will be reasonably sufficient to prevent evasion of the law by flight or concealment; bail which is per se unreasonably great and clearly disproportionate to the offense involved or shown to be so by the special circumstances of the particular case.
